What is menopause?

Menopause is the phase in a woman’s life that marks the end of menstrual cycles, a time when estrogen levels decline. It is defined as being after twelve months without having a period. Menopause can occur between 40 and 50 years. In the UK, the average age is 51.

Menopause is a natural biological process and part of the natural ageing process. However, physical, psychological and emotional symptoms symptoms such as hot flushes, can alter sleep, decrease energy and effect emotional health and relationships. There are many effective treatments available from adjustments in lifestyle to hormone therapy.

What mushrooms have useful properties in menopause?

Reishi
