It all started in 1999

The Hifas da Terra project was born at the University of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, where Catalina Fernández de Ana Portela, biologist and founder of the company, began to develop an initiative to grow saprophytic fungi on wood logs. After several years of business coaching and scientific studies Hifas da Terra was founded.

As a result of our intense R&D program, we created our biomedicine line with organic mushrooms (Micosalud) offering highly concentrated supplements, natural skincare, superfoods and supplement formulas for chilfren.

Creating the first mycological product range in Europe

We grow organic mushrooms of different varieties on oak, which improves the taste, texture and medicinal properties as opposed to straw. This also makes our mycorriza tree nursery and development of chestnut hybrids resistant to common diseases.
